Carrizo Gorge

This page is about our bike ride down the old railroad through Carrizo Gorge. It really was spectacular riding through this canyon with our bikes tires, at times, only inches away from peril. The cliff drops sharply into the depths of the gorge.

A short opening between two of the tunnels

In the cactus forest.

One of the long tunnels is collapsed at one end. This means we had to take the long way around the mountain through the cactus forest. This trail is gnarly. It has lots of jagged rocks waiting to trip you into flying over the side in a death plunge into the canyon below. Truly a worthy experience.
