Sandeep Gupta

I am an Assistant Research Scientist at the San Diego Supercomputing Center, UCSD. I currently work on algorithms to process massive data bases on modern hardware. My supervisor is Allan Snavely.

I completed my Ph.D. in August 2006 from the University of California, Riverside. I joined SDSC as a post-doctoral researcher and subsequently continued here as a research staff.

My Ph.D. thesis focused on 'External Memory Algorithms for Shortest Distance and Spatio-Temporal Queries on Road Networks'. My Ph.D. advisor was Professor C. V. Ravishankar. After joining SDSC, my major project was with the bio-informatics group NIF. Since July 2010, I have been affiliated to the high performance computing group PMAC at SDSC.

Prior to coming to the US, I completed my Bachelor's in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, in 2002.
