You have reached the homepage of Roland Hannes Niedner,
who once was an aspiring medical doctor but finds
himself as caBIG evangelist. If you are
interested you can read more on how, why and
when.
I work as the technical lead of the New Generation Biology Workbench (aka
SWAMI) hosted by the San Diego Supercomputer Center
(SDSC). While I have primarily targeted Bioinformatics and Medical Informatics I am actually
earning my living with Java infrastructure code. My
current development tasks, designing and implementing
the SWAMI SDK, are unspecific and might as well be
applied in banking or retail.
I would like to come back to my roots, thus I am on the
lookout for opportunities that take better advantage of my
multi-domain background (medicine, oncology, molecular
biology, bioinformatics, system engineering, databases and
ontology). If you have an opening for a highly motivated
team leader please find my resume here.
Before my professional career led me to the United States I
lived most of my live in a city called Jena. Jena is locatated in the
heart of Germany in the green state Thuringia. I was born in Erfurt the state capital.
